Ice cream has always been my favourite dessert for as long as I can remember: as a child, waiting for the ice cream van in summertime for a scoop of vanilla or strawberry ice cream, eating a bar of ice cream during the Eurovision Song Festival break, or having a multi-coloured ice cream waffle for dessert on Sundays.
I first started thinking about opening a vegan gelateria when I adopted a plant-based lifestyle back in 2014, but the time was not ready yet.
In autumn 2018 and throughout 2019 I learned the art of making high quality, vegan, artisan gelato from an experienced gelato consultant. The journey to find the right ingredients and create the perfect recipes proved to be fascinating, arduous, and at times really frustrating. Making top-quality vegan gelato from scratch was/is very challenging indeed.
My plant-based ice cream is made with love for people, animals, and our wonderful planet. This means that I prefer to use durable (raw) materials.
Cups, spoons, napkins, packaging: everything is compostable. Even cleaning and maintenance products are vegan and sustainable.
I would like to share my dream with you, whether it is vanilla, stracciatella, amarena, amaretto, speculaas (gingerbread), tiramisu, cheesecake, coffee, or another flavour. If you have a certain preference which is not yet on our menu, it will be my pleasure to help you. I do love a plant-based, culinary challenge!
